My husband made it his goal, and as a reminder he posted the keyword in a few places where we see it often. Although reminders were posted for it, they helped me too!

When I get irritated about something I think he should or shouldn't do, I see a small note with the word "YIELD" on it. It quickly reminds me that instead of focusing on "my rights", I need to surrender those rights to God, and give up my expectations.

When we don't see things with our eyes, He chooses production.

It's not easy, but it is key to our marriage!

Love is actually a choice, an act of will.

We often confuse it with our emotions, and think that we don't love our spouse much. The truth is that some days I "don't feel love".

However, I choose to love regardless of how I feel, and then I act on it, because I know it's the right thing to do.

Recently I was doing something that my husband didn't like. When I realized it and apologized, he said, "At first I started going crazy about it, but then I decided I'd love to love you more."

I like the fact that he chose to ignore it, and chose love instead of being angry or resentful.
